Trip Description

Upper Mustang trek is one of the unforgettable treks in the country of Nepal. It has recently risen in popularity which is remote and off-the-beaten-path. This is in comparison to the better-known teahouse treks in Nepal. The tour takes you to the good-looking forest of Rhododendron and Saal, powerful waterfalls, and glaciers. You may view the amazing mountains of the world. You will get the opportunity to visit various places like Jomsom, Kagbeni, Chele, Ghami, Tsarang, Lo-Manthang.

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

On this day, our tour begins from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. Our representative will come to pick you at the airport. From there, you will be taken away to our respective hotel for relaxation. We may also go for the short shopping if you are willing.

Day 2 : Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

Before heading to the Himalayas you must be familiar with quite a few things. Guidance and research for the trek are mandatory for everyone. You will be dealing with a strange experience but finally, with some groundwork, you can deal with it. You should be cautious with your bag pack. Carrying needless equipment will make your journey difficult. We will grasp up on some final shopping if there is free time.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Today, we set off early and drive to Pokhara. On the way, we may observe rafters that tackle the rapid on the river. On the entrance to Pokhara, there are even more eye-catching mountains to see. The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes about 5-6 hours. On this day, you may also observe this beautiful place and discover many other attractive sites.

Day 4 : Fly to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni

Today, we get up earlier to catch up on a short flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. This amazing short flight takes through the mountains. Jomsom is an interesting marketplace for the Mustang area. You may set-off over a small bridge then hit the path proper to take an interesting hike. This is the chance to explore a very unique village called Kagbeni. Overnight stay will be at this place.

Day 5 : Trek to Chele

On this day, we set off to enter the upper Mustang. The path takes us along the Kali Gandaki River. Here, the wind will challenge us. It whistles up the valley gorge. At Tangbe village, we see how the settlements are white-washed. Apple orchards also spot the scenery. After a path, we edge the village of Chele. Overnight stay will be at this place.

Day 6 : Trek to Syangbochen

On this day, hiking becomes a bit harder. We will be crossing the Taklam La pass and the Darjori La pass. There are amazing mountain views and intriguing caves. You need to keep your minds off-the hard-working legs. The path descends into Samar village. From there, we walk to a point and another sheer path onto Syanboche. Overnight stay will be at this place.

Day 7 : Trek to Ghami

You will be provided breakfast in the morning as you wake up.  There is another big pass today. It is called Yamada La. There are chortens and interesting villages with barley fields. We trek through forests and then have another pass to cross. Then, we descend to Ghami. Overnight stay will be at this place. Ghami is the large village for this area. It is beautifully located and surrounded by fields.

Day 8 : Trek to Tsarang

Today is the day when we should starts-off over the rough and slippery ground. We leave down to a suspension bridge over the Ghami Khola. The path takes us past mani walls. Mani walls are stone-built walls with Tibetan mantras. We will be crossing over the Charang La Pass. At the top of the Charang Chu, there you can see the village of Charang. The village also has a fortress and red gompa. Overnight stay will be at Tsarang.

Day 9 : Trek to Lo-Manthang

Today, we cross a river and ascend to the Lo-La pass. From there, we get our first look at the historic and beautiful village. It is known as Lo-Manthang. This village is the traditional home to the king of Lo. It is still the scene of many interesting and colorful Buddhist festivals. You may view the surrounding mountains called Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna 1, and Bhirkuti peak. Overnight stay will be at this place.

Day 10 : Trek to Lo-Manthang: Explore and acclimatization

Today is the rest day and we explore some of the mysteries of Upper Mustang. A short trek to the region of Chhoser is the start of a day. You will get to ascend to the top of Lo-Manthang. You may observe the scenic beauty of hills and mountains from the top. We may take a packed lunch and enjoy the place. It is the best place for trekkers to gain knowledge and experience. Do not forget to take your camera to capture the picture.

Day 11 : Trek to Ghami

On this day, you will be provided breakfast early in the morning. We will be heading forward to another beautiful destination called Ghami. It is one of the more beautiful villages in Upper Mustang. The village is supplied with a small health center. It is a new solar-powered school for the valley children. Here, the farming of this place is successfully practiced in protective greenhouses. Overnight stay will be at Ghami.

Day 12 : Trek to Samar

Today, we will be leaving off the village of Ghami. On this day, we will be heading towards another beautiful destination called Samar. It is a beautiful place with green pastures, high hills, and snow-covered mountains. You will also get to encounter local people if you know Nepali. You may observe the local culture and tradition of the people residing here. Overnight stay will be at the guesthouse.

Day 13 : Trek to Chuksang

On this day, we will be heading towards Chuksang. On the way, you will be passing through small villages. You will have time to observe how local people live. Similarly, you will get the chance to view the mountains that are covered in snow. The pleasant environment of the surrounding will make you delighted from inside. We will stay overnight at this place. However, we remain prepared for the next trip tomorrow.

Day 14 : Trek to Muktinath

On this day, we will be heading towards one of the sacred temples for Hindus and Buddhists. Muktinath is the famous pilgrimage site of Nepal. Muktinath is considered the place of salvation. It is believed that bathing here in the water guarantees salvation after death. Muktinath is the place where Muktinath Sri Devi is worshipped. We will stay overnight at a local guest house.

Day 15 : Trek to Jomsom

Today, we will be entering the lower regions of lower Mustang. This is our final trekking day. We will be having lunch at Kagbeni and perhaps explore the little monastery. After that, we look fondly up the Kali Gandaki gorge. Our trek has rejoined the Annapurna Circuit Trek. We will head from Kagbeni to Jomsom. Jomsom is a popular place in the Annapurna region.

Day 16 : Fly back to Pokhara

Today, we rise early and have breakfast. We will catch the morning flight to Pokhara. The mountains appear to have taken on a new sense. Here, you will get the chance to explore the beauty of nature from all angles. After checking into the hotel, you are free to enjoy the city. Lakeside is a very popular place. You may observe various attractive places such as Fewa Lake, Mahendra Cave and Davis Falls, etc. The overnight stay will be at Pokhara.

Day 17 : Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

On this day, we say goodbye to the stunning lake city. We may explore the city for some hour and head towards Kathmandu. The drive towards Kathmandu offers an opportunity to enjoy hill and mountain landscapes. After that, we come across the bank of the Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers. Moreover, there are beautiful villages with farming terraces on both sides of the road. The overnight stay will be at Kathmandu.

Day 18 : Final Departure

Today is the day to say goodbye to one of the astonishing country Nepal. You may enjoy your last moment with breakfast in a café. A representative will meet you at the hotel.
