Trip Description

The Tamang Heritage trek is one of the great combinations of easier and stunning treks. This route is categorized as unpretentious that will obtain you from the banks of the Bhote Kosi River. It is said that the earthquake of 2015 caused some demolition in this region. Before that, the section was one of the most popular destinations on the trekking map. This journey is very precious with unbelievable alpine scenery, attractive culture, and contented accommodation. Walking is not that very tiring with all those beauties around. 

The trip passes with the heritages of Tamang that greet you with tepid culture. There is terraced farmland that provides you an imminent into the traditional farming of Nepal. Farming and cattle nurture is the key profession of local people residing in the villages. Similarly, you may scale to Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for panoramic views. Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Your journey begins with your arrival in the bustling capital city of Nepal,
Kathmandu. A representative from our team will arrive for your pickup at TIA
who will assist you together with your luggage and transportation to your hotel? There are no planned activities for the day, so you'll check your hotel and luxuriate in the afternoon and evening at your leisure. You may simply want to rest after your long flight, but the lively tourist markets and restaurants of the Thamel are an enticing draw for many visitors.

Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation for the trek

Before heading to the Himalayas you must be familiar with quite a few things. Guidance and research for the trek are mandatory for everyone. You will be dealing with a strange experience but finally, with some groundwork, you can deal with it. You should be cautious with your bag pack. Carrying needless equipment will make your journey difficult. We will grasp up on some final shopping if there is free time. You will get the opportunity to explore Boudhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and Swayambhunath Stupa. They have been scheduled in the UNESCO world heritage sites. Day 3 : Drive to Syabru Besi

We will be coming Syabrubesi after 7 hours of the drive towards the north of Kathmandu. We will be captivating a jeep or bus from Kathmandu. We can watch the dramatic landscape of Trishuli Bazar and Dhunche on the way. You can watch the gorgeous Himalayan peaks of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh as we cross Kakani. Similarly, the terraced green hills and verdant forests make your drive very pleasant. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 4 : Syabru Besi to Gatlang

Sabrubesi is the ordinary start point for this trek of the Langtang region. We will be climbing a standpoint for an hour or a half. After that, you may watch the unbelievable view of Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda range, and the Golijang valley. We will be stopping at this valley to obtain lunch. In the afternoon, about 3 hours trek will take us to Gatlang. This is a good-looking Tamang village. Tamangs are one of the marginalized groups of Nepal. The overnight stay will be at Gatlang

Day 5 : Gatlang to Tatopani (Hot Spring)

Today we will be walking by downward to Thangbuchet, by a beautiful river. After lunch, the trail heads up again. We will cross an execution bridge and climb to Tatopani. Tatopani is the place where we will be stopping at night. There are towns name ‘Tatopani’ all over Nepal which means hot water. Here, you may take pleasure in the natural hot springs. It is very thrilling in the cold weather. Locals also suppose that water has a curative quality. It will cure away all the aches and pains from the trek.

Day 6 : Tatopani to Thuman via Nagthali

Today, we will rise to Nagthali Danda. This is lofty unlock grassland having astonishing views of the Himalayas. We will be stopping at the pleasant Bindang village for lunch. After that trekkers will carry on up to Nagthali Danda. You may also rest for a masala chiya, set by the gompa’s caretaker upon your arrival. Then, we will be ongoing down to Thuman. The place is a striking Tamang village with friendly people where we will be staying overnight.

Day 7 : Thuman to Briddim

Today trekkers will be on foot along a compliment segment of the path. The path follows the part of the old trade way to Tibet. Tibet is not far away from this area. The lane continues to Briddim after lunch. This is one more Tamang village where you will be staying in a restricted home. The surroundings here is very friendly. Accommodation, lodges will be obtainable at local houses which are a unique practice. These amenities are provided on a rotational basis. Overnight stay will be at Briddim.

Day 8 : Briddim to Lama Hotel

We will offer you breakfast in the early hours in the morning. After that, we will be touching towards the Lama Hotel. The track crosses through the Bhotekoshi River and follows the Langtang River. We ford the river from side to side a suspension bridge. After that, the trekking track climbs to Bamboo forests. It passes through the landslide region. The trek provides you charming wilderness. You will be treated to the view of occupant wildlife. They comprise Langur monkeys, Himalayan black bears, and red pandas. We will stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 9 : Lama Hotel to Mundu via Langtang village

On this day, we will be trekking top. On the way, you can dream beautiful oak, maple, rhododendron, and hemlock forests. The valley is spilling over with herds of yaks that put in loveliness to nature. You will get together them in the pastures. This village is a very old one that was bare way before. You can see the views of the mountains in even more intensity and attractiveness. After a few hours of walk from Langtang village, we will be going ahead to Mundu. Overnight stay will be at this place.

Day 10 : Mundu to Kyangjin Gompa

Our saunter today is shorter but more thrilling. You can see the well-known cheese plant on your way. This day we will be hiking to Kyangin Gompa. We will level the hostile moraine and therefore the trek will be one of the most thrilling moments. You can view the astonishing views of the Kyanjin Gompa. The trek becomes even more exciting when you see the icefall curving from Langtang Lirung Mountain. The Kyangin Gompa is known as a famous Buddhist monastery. It is the place of extreme implication to the local community.

Day 11 : Acclimatization-Explore Tserko Ri

Today we have one additional acclimatization day. After breakfast, we go on a small outing. A 3-4 hours hike to Tserko Ri, where you can practice the panoramic views from east and west.  The day is very important as it fulfills your entire satisfaction. Yu will regret if you forget to capture these beautiful moments on your camera. Upon our go back, you will have free time to rest and unwind. However, on the next day, we will be ready for another purpose.

Day 12 : Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

We drop towards the Lama hotel. On this day, we create our way back. You can take pleasure in the royal views of the towering mountains. You will be sorry if you forget to take your camera. Many people imprison these gorgeous moments through their camera and take a magnificent recollection along with them. We might even meet other wildlife as we go down back to Lama Hotel. We will stay all night at Lama Hotel.

Day 13 : Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi

Today is the moderately easier hike which will take about 3 hours walk. We will be having lunch and spend the afternoon calming or exploring. Syabrubesi is a minute town where you will find tiny shops that put up for sale handicrafts. You may buy them as a recollection. You may colorful aprons and shawls prepared by women in the confined style. All night stay will be at Syabrubesi.

Day 14 : Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

We take the next dramatic morning drive back to Kathmandu. We will wave a heartfelt goodbye to the majestic mountains. The hustle and bustle of Kathmandu may come as something of a surprise after the solitude of the mountains. You’ll be transported to your hotel to spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Feel free to relax or explore the local markets and eateries. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars in Thamel where you can enjoy dinner before returning to your hotel to spend the night. Breakfast is included.

Day 15 : Final departure

Today, is the last morning on your trip to Nepal where you’ll be enjoying a pleasant breakfast while reflecting on all of the memories you have collected on this trek. Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be taken to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. We hope you’ll return to Nepal in the near future to see everything else that it has to offer! Today’s breakfast is included.

1. Domestic Flight 
The flights are often affected by weather conditions and congestion which may cause delays, sometimes even for several days. We request you to ensure that you have planned for spare days to account for moderate delays, but can't guarantee against longer delays which can even affect your international flight.

2.    A typical Trekking hours per day 
A typical day revolves around the Nepal sunrise and sunset, instead of any Western time schedule. You’ll be walking 5-6 hrs each day on average.

3. Health Issues 
We recommend you consult the doctor to discuss the health issues associated with your trek. We also suggest you bring your own personal first aid kit to supplement the comprehensive. Although, the first aid kit is carried by the Trek Leader.

4. Altitude Sickness 
Many treks in Nepal can take you quite rapidly to high altitudes, so you must give your body the time to acclimatize. If you ascend faster than your body can adapt then you will likely start to develop symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Headache is the most common symptom, while nausea, vomiting, fatigue, loss of appetite, dizziness and sleep disturbances are some others.
The best way to adapt to higher altitude is to ascend slowly and gradually. The common method is that you should take 2-3 days to reach 3000m. If traveling to above this height remember to have extra acclimatization days.

5. Safety and security 
You can have Travel Insurance while trekking which is the safest measure. However, there are some measures following which you can implement to ensure safety: 

  • Secure your belongings 
  • Do not flash cash or jewelry 
  • Have an emergency plan 
  • Do not trek alone 
  • Only choose authorized trekking agencies 

6. Insurance 
We recommend you to have an appropriate insurance policy which covers travel in such isolated and mountainous areas, and also includes helicopter rescue from a trusted agency. We recommend you to do a good research and find a reputable insurance agent or insurance specialist.

  • Down or fibre Jacket, waterproof jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, warm cotton trousers, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, long undergarments, woolen hat, sun hat, gloves, bathing suit, track suit.
  • Sleeping bag (4 seasons), down jacket, day pack, water bottle, sun cream, sunglasses, flashlight with spare bulbs and batteries, lip salve, gaiters.
  • Insect repellent, toiletries, laundry soap, pocket knife, towel, sewing kit, plasters, binoculars, camera, film, cards and personal medical kit.

You may try both ways, either through a guide or without a guide. You may need to issue some permits. You at least need to hike a trekking guide for a strenuous trek. You need to go through a legal trekking company to get permits for the Upper Mustang trek. 
 

Trekking needs few days of walking that is continuous. You may find it difficult and boring at some times. Sometimes, you also need to fight with the high altitude. Trekking is not exhausting if you are reasonably fit. We design our trek to make your journey comfortable.  
 

We generally consider autumn as the best season for this trek. In this season, you may experience beautiful mountains and green hills. The weather is normally clear with mild to warm days. You may also practice cold nights. 
 

Your personal budget will totally depend on your spending habits and things that are included in your trip. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, it is suggested to bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes might cost you extra. You might also like to but some crafts/souvenirs along the trekking route for which you have to bring extra cash. 
 

Usually, your guide advises you to go to the toilet in the tea houses before leaving to prevent the need to go during the trail. However, you may come across a few houses along the trail that will let you use their toilet. But incase of an emergency you will have to go in the wild if there are no houses nearby.
 

You can find various ways to access the web. If you have purchased a SIM card, you will be able to use data to access the internet. However, the network connection for both communication and internet access might not be consistently good. As you progress higher, the connection may get weak. You will be able to get Wi-Fi service from the tea houses, but please expect to be charged for this.
