Overview

The trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) with 15 days’ itinerary offers you the chance to explore additional areas than that offered by a short trek to ABC. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the widely sought for treks in Nepal. The trail to the base camp is filled with a unique landscape full of terraced fields of crops and upon reaching higher altitude one can enjoy the beauty of rhododendron trees and evergreen forests. The walk passes through Gurung and Magar villages that have a rich ethnic cultural way of living. The traditional way of life of Nepali people living in mountain region can clearly be observed here. The lodges around the region are well kept and typical Nepali cuisines are offered. The brightly coloured and well-kept tea houses and restaurants are found along the way where you can get good rest and enjoy your food. At the evening you will have a good entertainment with singing and dancing in Nepalese folk tunes by our team.

The trek to the base camp reaches the highest altitude of 4,130m/13,550ft. The walk through icy trail around Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp is quite slippery so you will have to be careful. Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1380m/4528ft)

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, we offer you pick up facility from the airport and manage your stay at the most comfortable hotel in the city. You get to meet the team of trekkers and together we prepare for the trek. At the evening we offer you lavish welcome dinner with authentic Nepali Cuisine.

  • Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation

    We offer you a short trip to historical and cultural sites around Kathmandu valley: Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and Pashupatinath temple. You can also do some souvenir shopping during the sightseeing. After sightseeing, we head back to the hotel and get our clothing and trekking equipment ready and prepare for the trek.

  • Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (820m/2690ft) 6-7 hours

    We start with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara- the famous tourist destination in Nepal. During the journey, we enjoy the natural landscapes and beauty of green hillside.  Upon reaching Pokhara we head for the hotel and take rest. We might roam around the city. We will spend the night at Pokhara.

  • Day 4: Drive to Nayapul (1hour30minutes) and trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m/5052ft) 3-4 hours

    We start early with a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. Upon reaching Nayapul we start preparing for the trek. The trek starts from Nayapul and our destination for today is Tikhedhunga. After getting ready, we start walking along the bank of Modi river. Walking further ahead, we head toward Birethanti. From there the trail will pass through the Annapurna conservation area. We walk through a couple of villages, forests and hilly areas. We will also have a chance to view some waterfalls along the way. The walk will continue until reaching Tikhedhunga. We will spend the night at Tikhedhunga.

  • Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2870m/9416ft) 6 hours

    Our trek will start with an uphill walk. The walk through narrow trail and stone steps take us to the village of Ulleri. Along the walk, we will get to see the magnificent view of Annapurna South, Machhapuchre and Himchuli. Walking further up, we pass through the colourful rhododendron forests and reach Nangethanti. From Nangethanti we head towards Ghorepani. We will be spending the night at Ghorepani.

  • Day 6: Hike to Poon Hill (3210m/10531ft) and trek to Tadapani (2620m/8596ft) 6-7 hours

    Today we will reach the major destination area of the trek and that is Poon Hill. We wake up early in the morning and start taking uphill climb towards the top of Poon Hill so that we do not miss the magnificent sunrise view. We watch the amazing sunrise along with a view of Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Annapurna, Himchuli and many other highest peaks from the top of Poon Hill. The view is beyond explanation. We enjoy the beauty around and take snaps together. We then head back to Ghorepani. After breakfast, we start the trek towards Tadapani passing through a couple of villages, forests, hills and waterfalls along the way. We will be spending the night at Tadapani.

  • Day 7: Trek to Sinuwa (2360m/7743ft) 5-6 hours

    The trek starts with a steep downhill walk from Tadapani. The trail passes through rhododendron forest and on the way ahead we can have a chance to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall and neatly managed farmland. The beautiful view of Mount Annapurna South and Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) can be observed along the way. Walking further ahead, we reach Kimrong river.After crossing the suspension bridge above Kimrong river, we start the steep uphill to Taulung Danda. We then descend for a while and it’s an easy walk to Chhomrong village. We then reach Chhomrong.From here we start downhill walk via more than 2000 stone steps and cross the suspension bridge above Chhomrong river. From here it is an uphill walk to Sinuwa. We then finally reach Sinuwa. We spend the night at a lodge in Sinuwa.

  • Day 8: Trek to Deurali (3230m/10564ft) 5-6 hours

    The trek starts with a walk over the gentle uphill and downhill from Sinuwa. The trail further takes us to Bamboo through beautiful rhododendron forest continues with a climb up to until we reach Dovan.We then head steep uphill walk to Himalaya. We pass through small streams and rivers along the way. Nature adds beauty to the walk and makes forget the tiredness. From here, it is an uphill walk until we reach Deurali. The night will be spent at Deurali.

  • Day 8: Trek to Deurali (3230m/10564ft) 5-6 hours

    The trek starts with a walk over the gentle uphill and downhill from Sinuwa. The trail further takes us to Bamboo through beautiful rhododendron forest continues with a climb up to until we reach Dovan.We then head steep uphill walk to Himalaya. We pass through small streams and rivers along the way. Nature adds beauty to the walk and makes forget the tiredness. From here, it is an uphill walk until we reach Deurali. The night will be spent at Deurali.

  • Day 9: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13550ft) 4-5 hours

    The trek starts with a walk through Bagar, river bed area, and then we will move ahead through the uphill trail. This trail will take us to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Upon reaching the base camp, the breathtaking views of mountains around give a sense of sheer joy and excitement. The view of mighty peaks like Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna and others will give you one of the best experiences. We next head towards ABC. Walking ahead we get to view the huge peak above us. The walk takes us through the icy trail to the base camp. The 360° view of mountain range from the Annapurna Base Camp gives you the thrilling experience. We enjoy the view and take pictures together. We stay for the night at ABC.

  • Day 10: ABC to Bamboo (2300m/7546ft) 6-7 hours

    We start our day with the beautiful view of morning sunrise from ABC. We take pictures of glowing mountain peak highlighted with morning sun’s rays. We then start our walk from ABC towards Bamboo. We follow the downhill trail and take a walk through the bamboo forest enjoying the natural beauty around.  

  • Day 11: To Jhinu Danda (1770m/5807ft) 4-5 hours

    The trek today starts with the walk uphill and again downhill until we finally reach Chhomrong river. Further ahead, we walk through the stone steps and towards Chhomrong. We then head towards Jhinu Danda. Upon reaching Jhinu Danda we rest for some time. There are hot springs in the area and we will also be giving our body a good rest by enjoying in the hot springs. We head towards hot springs nearby and relax our tired muscles. We stay for the night in a lodge at Jhinu Danda.

  • Day 12: To Pothana (1890m/6201ft) 5-6 hours

    We start our trek from Jhinu Danda and walk through the human settlement area. There are traditionally built houses around the region. We will also be passing through temples on our way. We continue our walk through the stone steps. The trail further will take us through the dense forest with uphill climbing. From the top, we can snow the snow white beauty of Mount Annapurna and Himchuli. We walk until we reach Pothana. We will be spending the night at Pothana.

  • Day 13: To Phedi (3hours) and drive to Pokhara

    We start our walk early from Pothana. Today we will be heading towards Pokhara. We follow the trail that takes us through Dhampus village. After reaching the village we head towards Phedi. At Phedi, our trek finally comes to an end. From there we take a drive to Pokhara. We will roam around the city in the evening and spend the night in a lodge at Pokhara.

  • Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu (6-7 hours)

    Today we head back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We take good rest and soothe our aching muscles. We also muse over the exciting trek we had. At Kathmandu, we organize farewell dinner for you and celebrate the success of the trek and prepare for final departure.

  • Day 15: Departure day

    Today is the final day and we get ready for the departure. We offer you the facility to drop at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final greetings and wishes and hope to see each other next time as well. We wish pleasant journey and bid the final goodbye.

The 360° view of mountain range from the Annapurna Base Camp gives you the thrilling experience. We enjoy the view and take pictures together. We stay for the night at ABC.

    Day 10: ABC to Bamboo (2300m/7546ft) 6-7 hours

    We start our day with the beautiful view of morning sunrise from ABC. We take pictures of glowing mountain peak highlighted with morning sun’s rays. We then start our walk from ABC towards Bamboo. We follow the downhill trail and take a walk through the bamboo forest enjoying the natural beauty around.  

    Day 11: To Jhinu Danda (1770m/5807ft) 4-5 hours

    The trek today starts with the walk uphill and again downhill until we finally reach Chhomrong river. Further ahead, we walk through the stone steps and towards Chhomrong. We then head towards Jhinu Danda. Upon reaching Jhinu Danda we rest for some time. There are hot springs in the area and we will also be giving our body a good rest by enjoying in the hot springs. We head towards hot springs nearby and relax our tired muscles. We stay for the night in a lodge at Jhinu Danda.

    Day 12: To Pothana (1890m/6201ft) 5-6 hours

    We start our trek from Jhinu Danda and walk through the human settlement area. There are traditionally built houses around the region. We will also be passing through temples on our way. We continue our walk through the stone steps. The trail further will take us through the dense forest with uphill climbing. From the top, we can snow the snow white beauty of Mount Annapurna and Himchuli. We walk until we reach Pothana. We will be spending the night at Pothana.

    Day 13: To Phedi (3hours) and drive to Pokhara

    We start our walk early from Pothana. Today we will be heading towards Pokhara. We follow the trail that takes us through Dhampus village. After reaching the village we head towards Phedi. At Phedi, our trek finally comes to an end. From there we take a drive to Pokhara. We will roam around the city in the evening and spend the night in a lodge at Pokhara.

    Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu (6-7 hours)

    Today we head back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We take good rest and soothe our aching muscles. We also muse over the exciting trek we had. At Kathmandu, we organize farewell dinner for you and celebrate the success of the trek and prepare for final departure.

    Day 15: Departure day

    Today is the final day and we get ready for the departure. We offer you the facility to drop at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final greetings and wishes and hope to see each other next time as well. We wish pleasant journey and bid the final goodbye.
