Trip Description

Tusm Valley Trek is one of the memorable treks in Nepal. It has newly risen in attractiveness which is remote and off-the-beaten-path. This is in comparison to the better-known teahouse treks in Nepal. The tour takes you to the Machha Khola, Chumling, Chokhangparo, Philim. You will get the opportunity to visit various places like Mu Gompa, Burgi village, Chumling, Philim.  

Trekkers may also view the natural beauty of the region where there are abundant forests, rivers, flora, and fauna. There is an investigation of the Tibetan culture, and lifestyle of local people. Outlined Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

On this day, our tour begins from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. Our representative will come to pick you at the airport. From there, you will be taken away to our respective hotel for relaxation. We may also go for the short shopping if you are willing.

Day 2 : Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

Before heading to the Himalayas you must be familiar with quite a few things. Guidance and research for the trek are mandatory for everyone. You will be dealing with a strange experience but finally, with some groundwork, you can deal with it. You should be cautious with your bag pack. Carrying needless equipment will make your journey difficult. We will grasp up on some final shopping if there is free time.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola

On this day, we will be crossing Soti Khola. There you will get to see attractive views of waterfalls and rivers. We will be walking through beautiful Sal forests. On the way, you will be crossing Dhading Bensi and driving to Arughat. Here, the roads are a little rough. After crossing a suspension bridge of the Budhi Gandaki river, we will reach Soti Khola to stay overnight.

Day 4 : Trek to Maccha Khola

On this day, we begin our trek to Machha Khola. We will be walking through the beautiful Sal forests and crossing the Soti Khola. We will follow the climb onto a ridge above the huge rapids of the Budhi Gandaki River. We will get to see the views of Annapurna Circuit across Budhi Gandaki. After that, we will be trekking down rice terraces that take us to Lapubesi. After the path that follows the sandy river bed, we trek down to Nauli Khola. In this way, we arrive at Maccha Khola. Overnight stay will be there.

Day 5 : Trek to Jagat

Today, we will trek through a fertile landscape. There will be a few ups and downs. We will be reaching Khorlabesi crossing the Tharo Khola. On the way, you will encounter natural hot spring “Tatopani”. We climb over a ridge and cross the Budhi Gandaki river through a suspension bridge. You will pass through paving stones along the mani walls. After that, we reach the appealing village of Jagat. It lies on the west side of the Budhi Gandaki River.

Day 6 : Trek to Chisopani

At the moment, we will be taking breakfast early in the morning. After that, we will continue our journey towards Chisopani. The way is a little rocky and slippery. Chisopani is considered the first stop on the Helambu trek. You will be observing breathtaking views of the mountains. After few hours of walking, we will arrive at Chisopani to stay overnight.

Day 7 : Trek to Chumling

Our day begins with a trek from Lokpa village. This is an entrance to a wild route of Tusm valley. The actual entrance however begins from a deep slender and narrow gorge. On the way, we may observe the view of Boudha Himal and Ganesh Himal depending on the weather. The route takes us to Gumling. There we only capture the serene nature. After that, we cross the Syar Khola and arrive at the village of Chumling.

Day 8 : Trek to Chokhangparo

Today, we will be moving towards another beautiful destination called Chhokang Paro. We begin our trek early in the morning. It is said that the upper Tusm valley opens from Chhokang Paro. The village is made up of two settlements called “Chokang” and “Paro”. On the way, you will observe Serpu Khola, Gho village. After 2 hours of climb, we finally make it to the village of Chhokanparo. Overnight stay will be there.

Day 9 : Trek to Nile

The Nile village is on the western side and is the last village in the upper Tusm valley. It is on the sun side of the Shiar Khola. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from across Chhule. On the way, we pass through the pigeon cave. This is one of the sacred caves in the Tsum valley. You will be observing Buddhist murals as well as excellent artistic scripts. Crossing the suspension bridge over the Shiar Khola, we will be arriving at the Nile.

Day 10 : Trek to Mu Gompa and visit Dheuhyudonma Gompa

On this day, we will be visiting Mu Gompa. It is considered the largest monastery in the region. Mu Gompa is at the highest and farthest point and includes many religious books. There are images of Guru Padmasambhava and Tara. On the way, you will be passing through yak pastures. The monastery has rows of Chortens and beautiful mountain views. After that, we will be visiting Dheuhyudonma Gompa that equally has the same religious and cultural importance.

Day 11 : Mu Gompa: Rest and acclimatization day

On this day, we will be observing Mu Gompa more closely. The Gompa carries cultural significance. So, you may explore more Tibetan Buddhism. After that, we will be observing the surrounding environment of this place. In this way, you will gain better knowledge and experience on this day. However, we will be prepared for the next trip tomorrow.

Day 12 : Trek to Burgi village via Milarepa cave

On this day, we will be crossing another beautiful village called Burgi. On the way, you will be observing Milarepa cave. It carries cultural and historical significance. The Burgi village consists of green pastures, terraced fields, waterfalls, and rivers. After that, we will be staying overnight at Burgi village. You may take an interview with locals if interested.

Day 13 : Trek to Chumling

On this day, we will be leaving-off Burgi village and traveling towards another beautiful destination called Chumling. Chumling village is filled with natural beauty where you will get the chance to observe snow-covered mountains. The houses of this village are made up of stones and people depend on farming and cattle rearing as their main occupation. On this day, we will stay overnight at this place.

Day 14 : Trek to Philim

On this day, we will be providing your breakfast early in the morning. We will leave off the village of Chumling and head towards Philim. Philim is another beautiful destination where there are green forests, rivers, rhododendron, etc. Do not forget to capture the beautiful moments on your camera. Overnight stay will be at Philim.

Day 15 : Trek to Korlabesi

On this day, we will be heading towards another important destination called Korlabesi. There are snow-covered mountains and high hills. The weather is usually cold in these regions. So, you are suggested to wear warm clothes according to the climatic conditions. Korlabesi is a very popular village that provides you knowledge regarding the culture and tradition of local people. Overnight stay will be at this place.

Day 16 : Trek to Soti Khola

In this way, we will be preparing to return to Kathmandu. Our destination today would be Soti Khola. On the way, you will get to encounter local people, rivers, waterfalls, and many different flora and fauna. You will be observing rice fields and many other beautiful sites that attract visitors. The environment here is pleasant that makes your mind refreshed.  Overnight stay will be at Soti Khola.

Day 17 : Drive from Arughat to Kathmandu

Today, we will be heading towards Arughat. It is located in the Gorkha district. Today, slowly we will be preparing to return to Kathmandu. The drive towards Kathmandu offers an opportunity to enjoy hill and mountain landscapes. After that, we come across the bank of the Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers. Moreover, there are beautiful villages with farming terraces on both sides of the road. The overnight stay will be at Kathmandu.

Day 18 : Final Departure

Today is the day to say goodbye to one of the astonishing country Nepal. You may enjoy your last moment with breakfast in a café. A representative will meet you at the hotel. You are generally not advised to travel alone because of safety reasons. According to the government of Nepal, there should be at least two trekkers to trek any region. Similarly, you have to trek with a licensed guide while embarking on the Manaslu Circuit trek. 

The region is in a remote and restricted area. It remains protected through the Conservation Plan. Therefore, you need special permission to trek. 
 

The basic facilities will be provided to you. They include twin sharing beds in a room, meals, and shared toilets. Also, tea houses will provide you a blanket. However, it is important to carry a sleeping bag for extra warmth. 
 

Only few places have such facilities. Otherwise, the remote places lack these facilities. You may try for other alternative option such as mobile data at this place. You may have to skip showers for some days.
